Free transfers to your BBVA account in Spain.
Transfers to your account with BBVA in Spain during 2010 will be free of charge subject to the following conditions*:
· The average monthly balance of your Spanish Link Account must be £1,000 or more for each calendar month (or part thereof) for the period from 1 January 2010 or the date on which your Spanish Link Account is opened (whichever occurs later) to 31 December 2010. The average monthly balance is calculated as described in (*) below.
· Each transfer must be made between 01.01.10 - 31.12.10, via internet, and €12,500 or less per transfer.
*Transfer charges will be debited to your account at the time of the transfer and then re-credited as soon as possible after 31 December 2010.
**The transferee account must be held with a Spanish branch of BBVA. At least one of the account-holders must be named on both the Spanish Link Account and the transferee account.
Spanish 'Link' Account
The Spanish ‘Link’ Account (the “Link’ Account”) is an account established with Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria, S.A. (“BBVA”), through any of our London branches for customers of BBVA’s branch network in Spain who wish to move funds from the UK to Spain from time to time.
The ‘Link’ Account helps you to be in control of your international money transfers from the comfort of your own home. With the ‘Link’ Account you can easily transfer funds via the internet to your account with BBVA in Spain to meet your mortgage payments, payment of direct debits, payment of utilities etc., at a special discounted rate (See below).
Special Conditions for the Spanish " Link" Account
1. Account charges:
- The ‘Link’ Account is exempt from account opening charges.
- It is also exempt from account maintenance charges, subject to a minimum average monthly balance in cleared funds of £500 or more being maintained in the account. (*)
2. Transfers to your account with BBVA Spain in Euros:
· Payment instructions sent by post, telephone, fax or email will incur a flat charge of only £10 for transfers of €12,500 or less.
· Payment instructions made via BBVA Net internet banking will incur a reduced charge of only £7 per transaction for transfers of €12,500 or less.
· Please note: Transfers over €12,500 by any means will be subject to our normal tariff of £1.75 per £1,000 (or the euro equivalent) transferred subject to a minimum charge of £20.00 and a maximum charge of £100.00. Additional charges may be made for transfers of €50,000 or more.
· Your account in Spain will be credited no later than the end of the third working day following the day we receive your instructions. (**)
3. The exchange rate applied for GBP/EURO:
- Will be the rate, as ascertained by BBVA in accordance with its usual practice, applicable on the day of transfer.
- For transfers of £25,000 or the euro equivalent or more, a preferential rate will be applied details of which will be made available upon request.
All other terms and conditions relating to the ‘Link’ Account will be as per the general terms and conditions applicable to our normal current accounts offered by BBVA London. Details available on request.

(*) The average monthly balance will be calculated by dividing the sum of each daily balance on the account during a relevant calendar month ( or part thereof) by the total number of days falling in that calendar month (or part thereof)
BBVA reserves the right to vary the above rates and charges from time to time. We will, however, give account-holders no less than 2 months' notice prior notice should we decide to do so.
(**) Instructions received on a particular day after 2:30 pm UK time will be treated as having been received by us on the following working day.
